24"x20" acrylic on canvas, 2016 ~ by Juliet Drake Hossain
In the pre-dawn hours of December 12, 2016, I had the honor of joining my husband at Arlington National Cemetery. We participated as key volunteers for Wreaths Across America, distributing wreaths for thousands to lay at the graves of our service members. It was a remarkable experience, which I memorialize with this piece.

My family enjoyed spectacular sunsets during our reunion in Virginia Beach. Each moment in time was brief and vivid, but in committing one to paint, I was able to live with each color, each spectacular layer.
