"HUMANITY" by Art Fluent

https://www.art-fluent.com/humanity

Juliet’s work, “Live at the National: The American Captain” was juried into this magnificent Online Art Gallery. You are invited to spend some time in the Gallery at the link above. The other galleries presented by Art Fluent are also highly recommended.

Art Fluent published the following descriptive statement about HUMANITY:

“There are times when it feels like we are at a crossroads where ethical questions take center stage throughout humanity. And lately, we have been faced with addressing cultural, social, political, and economic inequalities like never before. This tipping point represents our touchstone for the worth of human life, dignity, and freedom for all. HUMANITY comes at us hard, reflecting on topics like mental illness, cultural expectations, love, greed, loss, scandal, and SO much more. Here we explore the deeper aspects of injustices, beauty, and life's simplicity, all wrapped up in one impactful exhibit.”

"Nature & Technology" by Visionary Art Collective

Nature & Technology: An Inevitable Interconnectedness, Virtual Exhibition

https://www.visionaryartcollective.com/exhibitions/nature-amp-technology-an-inevitable-interconnectedness

  • 3D Virtual Walkthrough available through Jan. 31, 2022

  • Online gallery will be permanently available

Nature and technology are polar opposites, both crucial to the fabric of this generation. They are the two areas in which we are compelled to spend our time or where we strive to spend our time. The sensibility of nature is merging with the increasing tech of our time in a synchronicity that we do not expect. Technology is becoming an extension of the human body and environmental landscape, a condition destined to intensify over time. "Nature and Tech, An Inevitable Interconnectedness" explores the interdependence of natural and man-made, real and surreal, rural and urban tangible and spiritual verities. It is the underlying and eternal interconnectedness of all things that is of the highest spiritual value. The binary preconception of technology as evil and nature as good is superannuated. Acknowledging our two current parallel realities brought together in compatibility, creates a sense of balance. This exhibition is a lyrical perspective for a harmonious relationship between technology and nature, a fantasy of symbiotic unity.

"Dreamscapes Unveiled" at the FAC Hurwitz Gallery

Dreamscapes Unveiled is an evocative journey into the realm of dreams, where the boundaries of reality dissolve, and the subconscious takes center stage. Artworks by FAC studio artists explore the multifaceted aspects of the dreamworld, inviting viewers to contemplate the mysterious and enigmatic landscapes of the mind. "Do You Know Her?" Interview with the Women's Caucus for Art

It is Women's History Month, commemorating the sacrifices made BY women and FOR women to help make the world, and our country, a more inclusive place.    Of course, we recognize that women should be celebrated throughout the year, so March kicks off "Do You Know Her", an interview series on the fourth Sunday of each month through October.

Our Exhibitions Char, Sandra Davis, speaks to members Trisha Gupta, Juliet Drake Hossain, and Shelley Lowenstein, each having a nod to science in their work: incorporating the human body, cellular design, and environmental aspects in their art practices.

Trisha Gupta is a contemporary artist, a community activist, an educator, and a leader of art as therapy. She works with textiles, paint, printmaking, and a variety of diverse mediums. Her work is heavily influenced by social inequality, and she explores themes of colonialism, mental health, and immigration. She is strongly influenced by her Indian American heritage. https://www.trishaart.com/

Juliet Drake Hossain works out of her home in Frederick, MD. Her favorite tools are paintbrushes and her Glowforge laser cutter. Her greatest inspirations are her vibrant children, outer space imagery, theatrical themes, nature, and the contemplation of self.  http://julietsbalcony.com/

Shelley Lowenstein does painted stories and plein-air landscapes in her studio at Otis Street Arts Project, Mt. Rainier, MD. She is represented by Touchstone Gallery in D.C. https://shelleylowenstein.com/home.html
